This first recipe is a family recipe that was used during the great depression. The original recipe called for two hot dog's, we use a whole package today. This is a family favorite and affordable..and big enough to serve a crowd.
Noodles & Hot Dogs
- 1 package hot dogs
- 2 cans tomato soup
- half a yellow onion chopped
- 1 package egg noodles
- a few shakes of worcestershire sauce
- 11 slices of American cheese
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Meanwhile slice hot dogs into pieces and brown with chopped onion. When the hot dogs are brown add a few shakes of the worcestershire sauce, the soup and the slices of cheese..mix till cheese is melted. When the noodles are done, drain and pour them into a 13x9 pan and combine cheese and hot dog mixture till all the noodles are coated with the mixture. Bake about 25 minutes. I usually serve with cheddar biscuits and green beans! Please let me know if you try this and what your family thinks!
